Default Would you buy this bike?

So to try to make it a short story... there is a guy that I work with, his uncle owns a rental storage property. One of the renters didn't pay for quite a while and the storage unit became his. In there was this 2010 FLSTFB with 2478 miles on it. Right now he is in the process of getting it put in his name and he is going to sell it. He went over to the local HD and they told him they will give him 9K for it, so he will give it to anyone that wants to pay 9K, if no one says yes, he will just let HD have it. I am debating SO hard, I already own a 2011 FLHX that was purchased about 6 months ago, this would definitely be an awesome second bike, its almost to good to pass up. Would you do it if you were in my situation?

You really have to think about this? 9K is way below BlueBook. Buy it a and sell it, or ride it like you stole it because that's what you did.

As long as he can produce a clear title, and the bike does not have damage, it would be a no-brainer for me. I'd ****** it up.

If you don't like it, or can't afford to keep it, you could certainly turn around and sell it for a bit of profit.

You guys really buying this? PAID FOR Harley and didn't keep up with the rent on a storage unit....and left the bike there...yeah right. Only if he's dead.

It's always a friend of a friend, why is that?

They think that everything in the unit was stolen, like 5 brand new 42" LCD TV's that were never opened plus a bunch of other stuff. Yes, there is no loan on the bike, probably insurance paid it off IF it was stolen. He is in the process now of getting all the paperwork and a clear title in his name, they told him it would be a couple of weeks, once that is done, then he can let it go.

As some have said if everything is legit go for it, on the other hand i think i would want to know who rented the storage unit, the last thing you want is some big M.C guy banging on your door and saying " i hear you've got my f**king bike ".

IF it was stolen then there are two parties who would want it back: the original owner, or if he was compensated by insurance, then the insurance company would have some claim to it, would they not?
