Default Paint Chips!

I'm sure it's due to the really crappy roads where I live in PA but I've noticed a few really small paint chips on the rear edges of my front and rear fenders on my 2011 Fatboy in Vivid black.Should I try and touch these up, they are very tiny, or is the sheet metal galvanized or treated so it won't easily rust? The chips are really tiny and not noticed unless you look for them but I don't want rust to start. Thanks for any help!

Most of the DIY touch ups I've seen did more harm than good. In other words, somebody not skilled with paint repairs tends to make a mess of things. And no, the bare metal has no rust-proof treatment. Just keep it waxed and it won't rust.

I just use a sharpie on those tiny chips. If they are really small, get the fine point sharpie.
