v-twin chrome belt guards?

anybody have any experience with this brand? looking to buy some new guards and i came upon these which runs a little cheaper then hd. how does it compare to the hd guards? is it worth it or should i just go with the hd guards?

i like the look without the bottom guard. is it okay to ride in the rain with that? also are you using the hd guard or are you using an aftermarket one?

I've ridden quite a bit in the rain like that, I'm having a hard time understanding what the issue would be.

Upper guard is the stock guard.

I don't remember who makes this one, or how much it was, but it wasn't expensive. I'm sure it was less than what HD would charge. I bought it on eBay. I just love the looks of this unit, kinda sporty

thanks! looks really good. i was just worried that the aftermarket chrome wouldn't be up to par with an hd one. but seeing yours i think i'll buy an aftermarket one also.

How crazy do you want to go? I'm a chrome *****, so adding as much as I can when creating a belt guard was my first inclination. For me, I wanted lots of chrome but there just aren't many that I consider a quality part. On the other hand the factory part seemed to be a well built and sturdy unit. So I thought rather than replace it with a part of unknown quality or questionable national origin, I would add to the existing part. So I took the stock belt guard and bolted a Shovelhead chrome chain guard directly to it. Fairly unique as I have never seen another like it. Its as strong or stronger than stock unit and its got a lot of the flash appeal I enjoy. Just wanted to throw an idea out in case you were interested.
