Default Springer front end noise

Just picked up a chirp in the springs??
Anyone know a fix for this?
Shop recommended silicon spray, but that didn't do ...
Thanks

There is a metal bushing that rides on the spring rod at the upper spring perch (between the rebound springs and lower spring assemblies). This bushing is inside the rubber bumpers on the springs. Shoot a small amount of WD40 or silicone spray onto the spring rod above the bumpers inside the rebound springs. The WD40 will run down to the metal bushing. Refer to Figure 8. The metal bushing is item #8 on the diagram.

Glad it worked.
Thanks PanHeadRich, It was easy been there myself, only wish the chirp was more like a Meadow Lark than a Parakeet.

That's what forums like this are all about bud, passing on info and helping each other when we can. I'll follow your posted info myself ... though I can't hear the squeaks over my straight fishtails. Still needs lube.

Enjoy!

If it's the bushing then it's starting to wear out. The spray will fix it temporarily but to fix it correctly you will have to rebuild the front end. My friend just had to do that on his Bad Boy, I think he said about 270.00 for all the bushings and parts. We made the tool to take it apart in the shop.

Any chance you can put up a pic of exactly where to spray?
