I recently changed air filter and pipes on my 05 Deluxe. I added V&H staggered Big Shots. Loved the look, sound and performance initially. Lately the bike has been very sluggish. I was trying to save a few bucks and didn't do anything with fuel mgmt. Seems like I need to now.
Harley has suggested their fuel pak and a couple hours on the dyno. Pretty pricy. J&P is suggesting I buy their V&H fuel pan which would be a lot cheaper. A friend says I should stay with the HD set up for better results. What are your guys thoughts?
Unless you're doing more engine work...I'd go with the V&H FuelPak. It's plug and play and works great on all my bikes.
+1
I've got an '09 deluxe with stg 1 (A/C, and pipes). Works great for me. I got the FP cause I know I'm not gonna be doing anything else performance wise to the bike. Very happy with it.
I also have V&H fuel pack. If you are not going to do anything besides pipes and air filter this is a great product. Like others have said it is easy to install.
another +1 for the fuel pack. I plan on doing a 107" eventually and will have to look at other options for fuel management but when a friend sold his cross bones and offered me the fuel pack and SE breather for $100 I couldnt pass it up. The fuel pack really made a diffrence and I have had no problem with it.
You'll be fine with the Fuelpak. No need for the dyno, so that will save you some bucks plus wear and tear on your engine.
I have a Fuelpak and it's easy to set up. I check my plugs once and a while and they're burning perfectly.
