Retired from riding 2 years ago (long story) and have recently started trying new bikes.
Rented a Deluxe and put 600 miles on her over the last few days and I am convinced this is the best bike for me.
I had a a Heratige classic and bought a new roadking classic back in May. I going to trade it in and get either another heratige or fatboy for next year. It's a nice bike but i'm short and even with the bike lowered and different bars I find it uncomfortable to ride.
Like my Night Train w/Screaming Eagle 6 speed w/overdrive too much.
Doing more traveling.. so decided to stay with my softail and make it into a Road Train.
Love the bike... no more buffetting and love the luggage room.
The best of both bikes...

Funny that I should stumle onto this thread as I'm cruising the Softtail forums for the first time in ages.
Been having this conversation with myself and my wife about dumping the 2010 Ultra Limited and going to the Heritage Classic. She likes the idea and wants me to be happy.
The Ultra Limited is a heavy SOB and I just never really take long bike trips anymore. Guess I spend too much time traveling for business. I think the Heritage Classic is just one sexy *** machine and much better for local/middle distance trips and cruising around town. And with the new 103 engine, it's gonna be a beast on the highways.
Gonna take at least a $2K hit trading the Ultra Limited but I think the Heritage is gonna give me the fun I've been missing on the Ultra.
