well i went fron a dyna to a softail, and i like the softail much more. with my dyna it felt more top heavy than the softail. to me the softail feels more balanced and natural to ride.

I had a SG and when my wife purchased her Heritage I had a chance to ride it. Well, I was impressed with the ride quality, the quiet engine and the power I traded my 2009 SG for a 2010 Heritage. I tried again to give the touring line another chance when I considered purchasing a 2011 Road Glide but all that awlful noise at the top end turns me off. Softails Rule....

Went back & forth between Softails,Dynas, and Touring for years. Always go back to the 'Tails. Now, I have a Fatboy & a RoadKing. Bought the King I figgered I'd sell the Fat, but I like the way it feels (carbed) so much, that I gotta keep it. What the hell;they're paid for & I don't really need the $$ (yet) The King is great for goin to the GF's house since she lives 63 miles from me,but when I wanna feel like I'm ridin' a Harley, I ride the Fatso. Plus, there's just something about the look of a Softail that none of the other "family" has. Plus, my King is whisper quiet, and my Fatty is loud, so I got a bike for each different mood I'm in. Yea, I may not always have a RoadKing, but I'll always have a 'Tail of some sort. (actually prefer the FX 'Tails. Nothin' like a Train or a Custom)

Well thanks. You guys are makin' me feel better. Ya read some of these posts from the other side, and it's like the touring models are just leaps & bounds superior. I know for the long haul they're more comfortable. I'm not an idiot.
I looked at 2 RoadKings in the last year where I could have sold mine bought the RK and it would have been a wash (well close)
Now Im not comparing the Heritage to the Roadking here, but these bikes were not as mechanically sound as mine. Plus they had more miles.
I have ridden an Ultra, but not a RoadGlide (any distance) so who knows.
As far as brand new scoots, I'm really likin' that Dyna FLD.
But I haven't ridden one (or any late model Dyna's for that matter)

I couldn't agree with you more. I've ridden the touring line a few times and they just can't compare to my Heritage. Some people like them so much more, but I disagree every time.

I have an 08 Deluxe and this year bought a 11 SG because I was tired of the softy on long trips. I intended on selling the Deluxe this year, but every time I ride it, I change my mind. It is a fun bike around town. On the other hand, the SG rules on the long trips, no comparison. I have now decided that I will keep both for now since I don't need to sell.
