Yep, I'm a switch-er. Had an 04 Heritage, went to RK Classic, now back to a 2012 Heritage and couldn't be happier! The RK was just too top heavy even lowered.. my softail feels like a motorcycle
Went from SG to Deuce. Enjoy the Deuce much better. I think all of us believed the hype that baggers were the way to go and are superior. My softail rocks and would never buy a bagger again. ride safe
My husband went from a Night Train to an Electra Glide, to a Road King, to a Softail Custom. Says he does'nt know why he ever got rid of the Train other than he fell in love with a custom paint job on the Electra Glide. Then decided he really doesn't like fairings, prefers a (removable) windshield if anything at all, so got the Road King which is really the bike he originally said he dreamed about owning. Then decided he really likes more of a "choppa" style ride, and so went to the Softail Custom since they don't make the Night Train anymore, and he didn't want to buy used. Says he feels like he's back riding a motorcycle again. Guess it all depends on the ride you want. Everyone's different which is why it's great that there are different choices available.
Me - I'm on Heritage now after riding an 883, a Nightster and a Street Bob. Wish I had gotten the Heritage a long time ago. I have a feeling this bike and I are going to get old together. Finally found "THE" bike for me.
Its funny I came across this thread.
I started on a softail standard, switched to a streetglide, got another softail standard at the same time, traded the SG for a newer SG and sold the streetglide. Now I'm pulling the trgger on trading the sg for a new Blackline. Should pick it up on Wednesday.
currently on a street glide but coming off a fatty i find myself at times wanting to get back to the softails.anyone on a softail now that went to the touring side and the back again?
