So, I can't be the first person to wonder this...I would like to have tubeless wires on my '05 Springer, but think the stock HD wheels are fine. After ending up a day behind after my brothers flat tire outside of Jackson, MS, I am hesitant about real long rides with the tubed tires....
I would assume I could buy them across the counter or from Zanottis...or get them from someone that has taken them off.
If you look at the new 2012s they say that the 'profile' wheel is tubless this year. Stopped by a HD dealership in NC today and ask this question. They don't seem to know much. The 'super tech' said it's front only (not sure why). I'd like to know if it can be done why not on all wheels. But, also don't really know why tubless is a 'plus' either. On tubless, get a flat, replace the tire. On tube, get a flat, replace the tube.
I can plug a tubeless tire without taking it off the bike.
Now, I'll run that tire until it is time to be replaced, but some people will be happy enough to be able to ride to a shop to get the tire replaced instead of waiting for a tow.
Sounds like the Charlie Daniel's song.
Was the Do-Drop-Inn nearby?
That is a bummer. I've seen alloy wheels leak too.
And repair kits that won't seal.
Spokes are a bitch. 2 flats in 30 yrs. knock on wood.
Rode home on the last one.
