Default RE: bag mounts

Yes, they are Kuryakyn. They simply mount right to your existing Peg mounts. 5 minutes and no modification. I read where some said they had trouble with the floorboards not staying in place, (swiveling) but so far I have had no problems and my wife loves em. I bought SS bolts and used lock tite and wrenched them up TIGHT, and no movement. That said, I still want to get the HD passenger floorboards. The Kuryakyn can fold up like your pegs do, although there is no reason to do it or disadvantage. If you want to buy a set maybe we can work a deal since I want to get HD stuff. They are new condition. If not I a happy running these for awhile too. Good luck with everything.

One more question for IReady. Are those kuryakyn pass. footboards? and how did you mount them? I have been looking for a way [other than the HD mounts] to mount pass. floorboards that sit above the SE 16 gauge pipes instead of outside of them.

Today I installed the Bubba's setup on my '07 Heritage. I also used their detachable uprights. The bags are very close to the fender struts. I would say with this setup (Bubba's uprights) the bags are closer to the bike than with the HD detachable uprights. My bags are within a 1/4 inch of the uprights which is a bit closer than with the stock setup. With the HD detachable uprights they will be a bit further out because the HD detatch kit is thicker than the Bubba's. Either way, they are very close to the bike.

There are a couple options on how to handle the forward strut on the '07 Heritage, the one I used is simply a chrome nut that is tethered to the strut. The other is some kind of "crow's foot" that sits on the passenger foot peg mount. I believe that require you to change the strut on the bag which I didn't want to do. Be sure to call Jim or Rick at Bubba's when you order and discuss it. Very friendly and helpful guys!

I had the Easy Brackets on my Low Rider and didn't like them because they set the bags out 1 1/2 inches or more.

Jim

Jim,

I have Bubba's with HD QR side plates. Here is a pic of how they sit:

I was looking at the web site for Boss Bags and If I understand it correctly the model 42 bags come with quickdisconnect fittings. Its included in the price as are plastic linners and other goodies that others charge for.

So you pay a bit over $1000 for the bags that fit the Deluxe with the basketweave tops they come with the quickdisconnet included.

They are one of the highest quality bags around and after I sell a couple of guns I may buy a set for my 05 Deluxe. The stock bags are ok but too small for my needs.

Jim,

I have Bubba's with HD QR side plates. Here is a pic of how they sit:
The Bubba's QR sideplate spools are about 1/2 as thick as the HD ones, they are approximately the same thickness as the plate itself plus the thickness of the nylon bushings that line the slot in the plate. The only thing I'm not particularly happy with is that the backrest now sits right against the back of the passenger seat. I don't think there will be any movement so they shouldn't rub the seat.

I'm in a hotel until Sunday night, but I'll post some pictures Monday. Thanks for your pictures.

Jim
