I would push for a new engine also. air cooled bike engines are not like car engines that they can be repaired with confidence of a long lasting repair.
i know hind site is 100%, but if anyone has a engine, either bike or cager, making intermittent knocking noise and the dealer says nothing is wrong.. when it starts happening and its full of oil, run it till it blows up.. they have no choice but to put a motor in it..
I don't know about a new bike....although I wouldn't turn it down. Maybe I'll push for a new bike in hopes to getting a new engine ??
If they put a new engine, do they restart the odometer ?
Cant do much for now. They're closed sunday/mondays so it'll go to tuesday. We'll see what they say, if I'm not satisfied in regards to them working on it too slowly, or not wanting to replace the engine, Im giving harley a call and letting loose.

If you don't get a satisfactory plan today, it's may be time to lawyer up.
yes there is. I've been MIA for the past week or so but had a message waiting of me when I got back. The dealer had a scheduled visit from the MoCo guys, apparently Quebec has some claim issues (not surprised).
They took a look at called in a brand new crated engine. It'll be arriving and installed soon. Hopefully I can still get one ride before the snow hits the ground.
Its been a long process, but I'm satisfied with the way the dealer handled me and very happy with MoCo guys getting me that engine no questions asked.
Way cool Jonny, I'm glad to see they did you right. You got off to a real rough start with your new ride, but now it's all about "Miles of Smiles" for many years to come.
