Also my girlfriend will be on the back as much as i'm on itshe loves to ride with me i want to know with thefatboy lowered if that'll make a difference with her on the back if i'll be bottoming out alot? My old sporty was a 2001 1200 custom and we bottomed out alot i want to make the ride comfortable for her as well. Should i go with a fotboy or fatboy lo?

I'm six feet tall and quite comfortable on my Lo. I've read posts/heard from other Lo owners that are 6'2+ that also feel comfortable.
I've never had a passenger so I can't speak to the issue of bottoming out.
Take a test ride b4 u buy her. If ur going to invest that much money make sure u know how it rides. Try the touring models too. Make sure your girl comes with u.
The stock fatboy lo won't have any issues bottoming out. I'm 230lbs and my wife is 125lbs. I would suggest a wider passenger seat that is made for the lo and it's 14" wide (harley sells it), I only use it when she rides with me, otherwise I just have it with the solo seat.
Also if you lower it and want to still have as good or better ride, than an air ride system is the best choice for a softail. Some will suggest 422's and other options, but in this case the air ride is 2nd to none. I have the shotgun shock system on mine and it's about $1,500.
There really is no need to lower the lo because it is one of harleys lowest made bikes as is. I will admit that I lowered mine for looks, but did not want so sacrife ride quality. Anyway, there's my .02!
I'm 5' 10" too and I dont think I've ever been too tall for anything. lol. I came from a nightster to a lo and I'm 250lbs and this bike rides great compared to the sportsters. You will be very happy.
ricard54 I am 6' and about 350lbs and i have a 2011 Lo. Once my cushion was broken-in my comfort greatly increase. On thing i don't like that they change on 2012 is they went with more pull back on the handle bars. For me when i rode a 2012 made alot of difference in comfort. So if you have short arms look at the 2012 or get a 10' or 11' with plans to change to a beach bar style.
I just got finished doing a "down south" run this weekend for the HD tour of Texas where I went from Dallas to New Braunsfels and hit 5 dealerships along the way. I covered around 550 miles and I had no problems on the Lo at all.
