Heritage Cams
2009 FLSTC, PCV, V&H true duals minus baffles
w/Arlen Ness Stage 1. I'm looking for some cams to gain a little more low-mid range. I know I lost some low end with the baffles out but I'll deal with it because I love the sound. I've tried searching and couldn't really find any good info. Also...would this involve any head work as well? I'm fairly uneducated when it comes to engine mods such as this. Thanks for any info you can give. Keep the rubber down.
Not trying rob the thread but hopefully an answer to this may help the OP.
Check out www.protwin.com and take a look @ their HQ500 cams great low end cams that pull thru all rpm's......
I tossed a set of S&S 583ec cams in my 2009 FLSTC 96b - and I'm absolutely satisfied with the improved throttle response. I was looking for midrange "passing power", and got it in spades.
If I had to do it again... I'd probably make the exact same decision. Yes, I did have to get new valve springs, and I replaced the stock pushrods with adjustables. But, I'm satisfied with the bang that I got for my $$s.

Got my Wood 555s from Fuel Moto. Dyno curves for this cam are the best I've seen (can be seen on Fuel Moto's website), and my butt dyno tells me they are pretty damn accurate. These things effin' ROCK for a stand alone bolt-in!
Hoggy, was it a straight cam swap w/ tune? No other work involved? Thanks for the info fellas!

Fuel Moto has a cam install kit you can buy with the cams that includes upgraded inner cam bearings, and all necessary o-rings and gaskets. You'll also want the adjustable pushrods for 2 reasons: first, they make it so you won't have to pull heads for the swap and second, they quiet down excessive valve train noise (when adjusted correctly) that aggressive cams tend to create.
Give Jamie (@Fuel Moto) a call. He'll give you a great price on the entire package - cams, pushrods & install kit. You didn't say whether you were doing the install yourself or not, but you'll still want the install kit, regardless. If doing the install yourself, you'll need a bearing puller and install tool. Both can be had for $100 or so. Good luck!
