I'm new here, but I've been reading along for a while. I have a 09 fxstc, and was wondering if I changed the pipes on it, would it be possible to tune my bike with my laptop ???
Do you have a fuel injected fxstc? If so then Yes it is possible, but you really don't need to if you just change the pipes. The most important component in this equation of power is the Air Intake.
The of course you will need to purchase one of the many fine EFI products out there. I like my Power Commander III from Fuel Moto.
Power Vision by Dynojet and TTS Mastertune are 2 ways of tuning with a laptop that comes to mind. There is a lot of information in THIS section about tuning methods.
I'm sorry, I had a good ride today, a few cold ones and I just can't get past the word laptop. Is that anything like a lap dance? Yeah, I am being a jackass, sorry I can't help myself. Seriously, welcome to the forum and there will be a lot of good info from the good folks here but they are going to need more info on your tuner.
If you have a fuel management system that can be tuned with a laptop, then the answer is, "yes". I have a T-Max and regularly update and tune with my wife's netbook. Wish I could use my Mac, but Zipper's doesn't make the T-Max software Mac compatible.
I would recommend taking a serious look at Dynojet's Power Vision. No laptop needed for basic tunes (tho you can do more advanced tweaks with a PC). Comes with a small LCD screen you can (if desired) keep on the bike for monitoring and tuning purposes. Very slick system.
[QUOTE=TUCCI;8883427]Welcome to the forum from sunny Arizona, introduce yourself so that we know a little about you. Hi everyone, thanks for the input... I ride a 2009 fxstc, I have 50,000 miles on it. live in louisiana, love the south, great riding weather here. you know what they say bout la. if you don't like the weather wait till tomorrow it will change.. been riding for some 30 years got my first harley when I was eigthteen, been hooked ever since . just don't know much about these new bikes... so all input is welcome... thanks..
I use TTS with an ACER Net Book (no Hard Drive) to program, and as need be (or the mood suits) to re-program my ride. The lack of a hard drive on the computer makes it work on the bike when I carry it with me to record data.
