The main problem with doing business with an online only company is that many of them do not have a retail location and/or do not answer the phone or emails of both. They are all about sell sell sell and forget about the customer service.
As soon as I saw this thread I knew that Rush would take care of it quick and efficiently as they always do. We pride ourselves on our customer service at Dr. V-Twin as well and we sell Rush too.
It always sucks when this kind of thing happens, but it gets filed in the SH&^ happens category.
Not all "online only" companies are bad, you just need to do your homework.
You are exactly right! I spoke too soon and too broadly. I didn't do my homework at all. There are many very reputable online-only dealers, some of which advertise here on this Forum.

And with that statement, here is the conclusion: this response from me to Rush Racing speaks for itself......
Bob,
I just wanted to thank you again for your quick action and reply and for resolving the issue in the most satisfactory manner!
The Fed Ex labels were emailed to me immediately which allowed me enough time to get the exhaust sent back to you before the last shipment left for the day. Additionally, I called your number twice yesterday and you answered in person both times! I currently own a couple other Rush exhaust products and have found them to be of the highest quality offered in the marketplace. Your customer service is superior in every measurable way and has reinforced my decision to be a dedicated fan of Rush products! No other exhaust products for me unless they're stamped with "RUSH"!
The Rush 2 into 1 black ceramic exhaust, 2.25" baffle, with the chrome end cap will look awesome on my 2011 Harley Davidson Crossbones! I'll sent photos when I get the exhaust mounted this week.
Thank you again for turning an unfortunate event into a very satisfying experience!
This happens more often than people realize. It must have been packaged on a Friday or by someone who was getting laid off.

Exactly. Unfortunately, the quality of products and services seem to be declining as more and more people who don't give a rat's *** about doing their job right enter the workforce. The prevailing attitude seems to be to put your time in with as little effort as possible and collect your paycheck.
I usually don't do on-line buying and the few I have I talk to them first.
I will say that in my 5yrs of experience with my RUSH pipes that I have always been well pleased with their service and products..
They helped me picking out the baffle size.
They knew what was wrong when I was getting a LOT of decell popping when the dealer first installed them and couldn't figure out why and they have since sent me new Packing material for the baffles when they burned out, free.
All of the help, info and new packing material was at no charge and sent next day.
IMO they are TOP Notch to do business with and will do whatever it take to fix the issue and they'll do it FAST.
I'll tell ya how good vance and hines cust service is. Ordered a set of pipes and a fuelpak a few years ago and after putting on the pipes and programing the fuelpak the bike would idle at 3000 rpm. Called their tech line and finally after 2 hours of checking programing, wiring and codes they decided the unit was bad. Had to send it back to cal at my cost and wait till they checked it out before they would send me a new one. Took 2 weeks till I got a working unit. NOW thats customer service!
My pipes arrived today! Did I mention I was on the phone with Bob at Rush racing just last night confirming my return shipment, and the new pipes hadn't been shipped yet???? WOW! Well, they're here!
