Default rear end change for a blackline

im wanting to change the rear wheel from a 144 tyre to a 200 tyre and keep my spoked hub cause of all the abs crap and its easier to keep the pulley and brakes all in line so im goin to try this idea.can i use fat spokes and a wider rim to take a 200 tyre.what size rim and will the fat spokes line up with my stock hub and a wider rim.alsothe reason im not putting a conversion kit in the bike is because of the cost so this is why im looking at the wide tyre option with the back fender being cut and widend and some new strutts made up

I was looking into this, I was gonna get a 5.5" wheel hoop drilled for 40 spokes and get a set of fatboy fender struts and mount a shorter one piece fender. It looks like all the stock hub parts should clear the 200 tire but I never got around to doing this. I dont think fat spokes will fit unless the hub can be drilled out for the larger spokes. Keep us posted on how this goes.

i will jay i first got alot of ideas from your bike and have gone the same way as you on a few things but the reason i am going this way on the rear is because it might work out a bit cheaper and i am in the early stages to see wether it can be done well under the cost of buying a conversion kit and still be happy with a different looking 200 rear end, strutts, and rear fender

Thats cool im glad to help in any way I can, The 200 is gonna look good I found a site that sold hoops for laced wheels never ordered anything from them nor do I know anyone who did but they do sell what you need. www.hdwheels.com I was looking at the apollo soft lip rims because they match the stock hoops pretty well. Hope your project goes well and post some pics when you get started I cant wait to see it.

Just out of curiousity, why didn't you buy a bike with a 200 rear? When I was looking I found that after seeing the 200, I didn't want anything but a bike with a fat tire. Just saying, given the hassle and expense.

Should be 200, thats what I found when I was looking. Had to go with the 06 and up for 200. So now the bikes are getting shinny tires again? still like fat!
