Default Couple Issues With New Bike

I have about 300 miles on my 12 FatBoy Lo. I noticed a slight oil leak from the two pressed in fittings on the motor near the exhaust pipes. I put it up on a lift last night and also noticed my rear brakes are rubbing on the rotor. I was getting alot of brake dust after rides on the right rear of the bike, now i know why. I have not talked to the dealer yet about the brakes, but they acted like the oil leak was a common problem. My EVO has never leaked. Anyone else had these issues?

Thanks Bro. Going to talk to the dealer today about both, and going to insist they fix the leaks. Sometimes the dealer makes me wonder how much they really know about bikes. The service writer did not even know the oil lines pressed in. He offered to try and "snug them down" with a wrench.

I only have about 500 miles on my 2012 Lo.
I had no motor oil leaks but I did notice some slight brake fluid around the gasket on the front brake fluid resevoir.

The clutch cable must not have been installed right at the factory it rubbed on the back of the front fender and made some marks.

Also check your front end wobble at 40-45 mph (take your hands off the bars as you slow down)

I have read other forum members with the same 3 problems that I have above, but I haven't read anything about the leak you have until now.

Mike: I have a few dealers in the area. I am going to talk to another one today before I go back to the one I bought the bike at. They are a little bit of a ride, but I am going to be near one today anyways so I will stop by.

Jester: Thanks for the info. I heard aboud the front end shake, but have not noticed any in the 300 miles I have ridden. I will take it out and see what happens when I take my hands off.

the very reason I refuse to let a dealer do anything to my bike... my wife's new 2012 street bob... she kept complaining the first couple of rides that it was hard to stop.... instead of listening to her I just said it would take some time for her to get used to the brakes and the pads probably needed to wear in a little...

she kept complaining... so I grabbed the front brake lever.... and it went all the way to the grip before they even started to grab....

so, my dealer, who "went over" the whole bike before I bought it.. as well as the dealer they got the bike from who had it on their showroom floor... failed to even bleed the front brakes...

Oil leak none, but brake pad rubbing is normal.

RedNose - Those fittings are pressed in and often times need to "seat" themselves during initial break-in. My Night Train did the same thing on its first ride from the dealership. I pointed it out before i loaded it up, they cleaned it up, told me what I just told you, and it never happened again.

I was thinking the same thing RE: seating themselves. I am going to put some miles on it this weekend and if still leaking will tell the dealer I want it fixed. Right now it is slight, but I do have some spots on the pipes. Definitely want it fixed before the V&H pipes go on. Thanks for the info.
