Exterminator, for me the sound was the most important factor to change so I just recently added the Rush 2" slip-ons (no tune necessary). I couldn't be happier; they look great and sound great. My next performance upgrade will be a heavy breather and hopefully the Power Vision tuner when they have one ready for the 2012 softails. Good Luck.
Hey thanks for the response.J&PCycle has a tuner that adjusts on the fly & hooks up to stock wire harness with no programing necessary if I under stand it correctly.Terry Components Fuel Controller #514-104
Man that's great news. I to plan on a pair of Rush slip owns & a stage one breather.I have a question ,how critical is the fuel management upgrade in the sequent of advents. I believe that it will be the last piece in the process of up grading to better sound & performance.I guess I'm thinking Mufflers,Breather & fuel management,or should I reverse it? Money is always a issue these days and I can only get two items at once.I would like to be riding while building up the slush funds for the last piece. Thanks in advance Gary
Mfflers first, then when Stage 1 AF is installed, most would say controller then/ Ck out www.FuelMoto.com Jamie there has been involved wit Harleys a long time and they are a Forum sponsor.
Hey, I just saw this now. Forgive my ignorance, but is this true on other models as well? (That the cat converter is part of the stock muffler and will be gone?) I swear my Street Bob got HOTTER when I installed the Rush slip-ons. I would love it if the Heritage is cooler afterwards!!
Generally, the FLH models the cat is in the headpipe or collecter. on the softails the cat is in the front(part) 0f each muffler. There may be a couple of exceptions to this
Back in 07 our dealer had never installed a set of Rush pipes. My bike was his 1st set they put on and dynoed..
Do I like them,, Well I'll just say they are still on my bike and still look like new after 36k on them.
I have had to re-wrapped the baffles twice, but the last time this summer with the new double wrap way they are doing now I believe the wrapping will last a lot longer. It also give even a deeper sound over the old way.
