Got a 2010 FLSTC. Tried to start it this afternoon, turned the ignition switch on and hit the start button and nothing happened. Battery seems fine as the lights and gages all light up. I pushed the bike back an forth which I believe moves the pistons.
(It seems with this bike as well as my previous two Harley's that even when the clutch is all the way in it makes the bike hard to move, like the clutch still engaged when the bike is not running.)
Check to make sure your battery cables are connected tight & dab w/some dielectric grease for good/solid connection. Also, with bike still under warranty, might want to make a trip to dealer IRT starting problem (if not cables) & clutch adjustment. Good luck!
Did you try starting it in Nuetral? Sometimes the wet clutches drag a little when starting it in gear. I just see it as extra wear and tear on the starter when starting the engine in gear with the clutch pulled in.
Hey BassCatcher I dig your name. I have done a little bass fishing myself. I doubt it is a near as good fishing in OH as in your area. We do get to KY Lake once in a while. We've talked to several people from the St. Louis area while we were there. As long as we didn't talk baseball we got along fine!

Thanks. Yup, gotta admit that we have some pretty fair fishing in these parts. I get out whenever I can. Don't feel bad about the St. Louis people, I don't get along with most of them either.
1.) If the Transmission linkage wasn't exactly in neutral, the Neutral Switch on the Transmission will prevent the Turn Signal Module from engaging the Starter Motor Relay. Did you notice if the green Neutral Light was "On"? The Light and the Turn Signal Module are on the same wire that the Neutral Switch controls.
2.) If you accidentally pushed the "Kill Switch" on the Right Handlebar you will also get the symptoms you are describing.
