Along with a big bore kit on my 03 Fat Boy I am considering installing some SE or Andrews cams. I found some really detailed step by step instructions for cam install on the forum last month but did not save the write up. If anyone has the link to any of these posts it would be appreciated.
S&S has a good video on youtube. Cant link it from my phone so look it up. Lots of good threads here too. Do you got the bearing puller tool. Are you doing adjustable push rods or keeping the stockers.
This may be the one you're looking for: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...-write-up.html
If you have the money, send your heads up to bigboyz for a "street" port, decking to match the cam you choose, and cc'ing. It will run you about $400 but you'll get good bang for your buck. Which cams are you considering and do you have EFI of carb?

I have a carb. I have not done much research on the cams yet. I am looking for more low - mid range power... any recomendations would be appreciated. I am also inbetween the SE 95" kit and the S&S 97" kit.

I do not have the bearing puller tool but i would buy it if I need to or if it will make the job easier. I will be using adjustable push rods.
I went with an Andrews 26 but if I had to do it over, I'd go with the Andrews 37 to get a little more out of the build. The 26 wants to run at 9.6/1 CR and the 37 abot 9.8/1 so you need to have the heads decked to get that CR. I'd use bigboyz.com and include the street port as well. I have a carb on mine and ended up with a 48 slow and 200 main jets.Replace your inner cam bearings with the Tinken B148, consider the upgraded cam plate with hydraulic tensioners and better oil pump. If you can't afford that, replace your oil pressure spring in the cam plate with a Baisley LMR-002 spring to increase the oil pressure.Where do you live in Pa.? I have the puller and a few other tools you may wanna use. BTW, depending on the cam you chose, you may be able use your stock pushrods. There are also SE perfect-fit pushrods which enable you to avoid the adjustables. Since you're taking the rockers and heads off, no need to use adjustables.
