Hi, could any of you guys over the big pond tell me if your 2007 bikes have a exhaust actuator fitted, this is a cable operated device that opens and closes when operating the throttle, supposedley to give a louder exhaust note than previous stock bikes.it is situated near rear peg, i want to fit a rhinehart 2-1 and PC111 but their is no mention of this on their sites.PLEASE HELP.ROLLONOFF, England.
If I understand what your talking about its not to make it louder. Its a valve that redirects the exhaust through a catalytic converter system that Harley had to put on so the environmental nut burgers won't go postal on them.
I believe that it is an export only setup, though it may be used on California sold bikes also. They have a lot of those tree's first nut jobs there too.
Not sure how your going to get a set of decent headers on there without incurring the wrath of the powers that be come inspection time.

Does it show that bad? I was "TRYING" to be subtle. Guess I'll have to work on that a bit more.
But right now I have to sharpen the teeth on the chain saw.

We have the same setup in Aus. The only exhaust mods here ATM are slip ons.
MANY THANKS, so am i right in thinking that these actuators are only on specific iternational bikes and the tree huggers from calofornia.the tech guys from bub seem to think that i will not have a problem in fitting but they do not actualy say what to do.i believe i will have to wait a while to see what comes on the market. CHEERS tom.
Actually it is an international thing only, California models use what is called an evaporitive emission control system on the 2007's. This is to meet CARB regulations, which as far as I can tell is a California thing. (They have out paced the rest of the US in this type of cr*p)
Since I'm one of those California nut jobs, I'll inform you that your wrong. With the exception of the charcoal can to catch fumes from the fuel tank, your bike and mine are identical. Even the color.
Talked to vance hines, this actuator i mentioned is on european and aussie bikes.their r and d boys are looking to solve the problem at this time.if this item is removed the engine management light stays on.CHEERS TOM UK.
