My 90 softail will crank over but I'm getting no spark! Now if I wiggle the ignition switch sometimes it will fire off? But before that happens it backfires then it will start I changed out the coil, wires, and plugs because they were bad it ran fine for a day now I'm back to the same thing. The switch is kind of where I'm pointing to but I just don't want to keep throwing parts at it. I just put a new battery in it still the same thing any help will be much appreciated!

 

well, common sense tells me if you wiggle the switch, and it gets spark, replace that first.

 

Put a meter on the output side of your Ignition switch, with power on, wiggle the switch assy./ wires coming to the switch and watch the meter. I would check the kill switch on the R/H handlebar switch too, I would disconnect this switch to isolate the other first. Check the wires for cracks that could provide a ground. Make sure your ground is good also.

 

Yeah I loose power as soon as I wiggle the switch so looks like Im buying a new switch!!!!
