I had easy brackets on my 2010 Fat Bob and I loved them. I don't really think they stuck out too far and they blend in I think when using black saddlebags. If you're talking about only using the bags for long trips then you should probably be more concerned with how well they work then on what they look like. IMO

Looks like boss bags are going to be the best bet. They shouldn't put the bags out any further and still give at least a little support at the bottom. Thanks for the input guys. Big help as always...

On our 07 I added the Q-detach S bar. so my bags stick our bout 1/2in more than stock..

So when I take my bags off to clean I just unbolt them,, it only takes a couple mins to remove them (4 nuts and two bolts).

I reckon I haven't ever rode with them off other than when I take the bike to our INDY to replace the rear tire.

Yeah, I have the qd sissy bar too, one of the first things I added to the bike. That`s why I`m worried about the bags sticking out even further then they already do. I think with the Boss Bags QD they should stay right where they are at. I think the easy brackets would be easier to use, but over all, Boss Bags look to be the best. If anyone else has a better idea, please let me know.

Default I need mine to stick out a little further...

I ordered CC saddlebags, which I like, and only bothered making sure the bags had an inch or so of clearance above my stock pipes. I wanted them as low as I could get them. Anyway, I did not pay attention that the axle bolt on the left side actually sticks out a little more than it does on the right (exhaust) side. So, sometimes when the swingarm comes up, it hits the bottom trim (heh-heh, I said "trim") on my left saddlebag. Worst case has happened where it popped the front bracket up and off the mounting hardware on that bag. So, I put some washers on the left side to push the bag out and that helps. I am looking into a sissy bar (I like the old school tapered style) that will look decent while keeping the bags out a little. Truth be told, I rarely ever remove the bags except to clean the bike.

So JLA, have you decided for sure that you are going to get the Boss Bags QDs?

I "think" the Boss Bags QD looks the best also, but I haven't heard much personal feedback from anyone that's used them for a few years. I hope a few riders that have them speak up on performance, likes/dislikes, etc.

Unless something better comes along, or I hear some bad feedback about them. I'm in Eastern Canada, so I have the unfortunate luxury of a few months before I have to decide. Every January I put my list together of a few things I NEED for my baby, then take a month or two to look for the best deals.

This year has T-Bag, QD saddlebag brackets, auto-tune for my PCV, then hopefully treat myself to new boots and gloves if the $$$ holds up. The list is always flexible though... lol

I have a Fat Boy, but do love my Easy Brackets. Changing them out is instant, and they don't get in the wife's way back there.

I have Boss Bags but used Easy Brackets to mount them. With the Boss Bags system you have to open the lid to install them. When they are loaded it's a lot easier to have the Easy Brackets.

do you have the QD sissy bar? how far do you find they stick out, and how stable is the bag fully loaded without having the lower support?
