easy brackets for flstc?
Hey guys, been a while since I've been on here, but things have calmed down and now it's time to wait out the winter and pick up a few things for the bike. So I'm looking for a quick detach setup for my '09 heritage bags. I looked at the easy brackets, but I'm worried the bags will stick out to far, and I'm not sure if it allows for the lower bag support to stay in use. Have you guys had any luck with this setup, or can you recommend another? Thanks for the help...

I use these on my flstni, they stick out enough to clear my swingarm covers so it works great for me. If you don't use your bags much you can put the stock fender bolts back on in a couple minutes, me personaly I don't mind the docking hardware.

I have that setup on my '04 Heritage. I drilled out the rivets that hold on the stock bag supports and then mounted the easy brackets. I have not had any issues with not having the lower support. Most of the time I ride without the bags. I haven't tried it but you might be able to keep the stock mount in place and mount the easy bracket between that and the quick release pegs on the fender. Love being able to remove the bags in seconds. They stick out a little further than stock but it doesn't bother me.

This is my solution. Just takes a couple minutes to bolt them on when I need them.

I've been doing that, and I know it doesn't take long, but most of the time I find I just can't be bothered to unbolt them, and mostly what I want the quick detach setup for is when I'm on the road, I can pop the bags off and take them into the hotel with me instead of unpacking everything... I'd love to hear from someone with a different product for comparison.

Searching the threads on the forum turned up info on several brands:
Ghost Brackets
Easy Brackets
Bubbas Brake Brackets
Cycle Visions BareBacks
Boss Bags QD Chucks
Lots of complains about Easy Brackets setting bags too far outboard from stock.
Lots of complaints about Bubbas customer service - I think they may be out of business now even.
I'm most interested in the Boss Bags Quick Detachable Brackets, though they are expensive. It appears that these still have a contact point for the lower front attach point, though it does not appear that it actually connects at the point, just rests.

Customer service from them was great a couple years ago but I haven't heard much feedback on the forum on the "air chuck" style Quick Disconnects for the Heritage bags.
Anybody got some real world feedback on the Boss Bags Quick Detachable Brackets?

I saw the Easy Brackets on a Heritage this past summer. I think they make the bags stick out to far and they look cheap -- and they are not. Just my

I got Barbacks for a heritage off Ebay ($30, new in sealed package) so I use those (fit my FXST perfectly). They make the bags stick way out, since I use them with docking sissy bar hardware, but that's the price of being able to take them off.
