It seems like the top two contenders are Easy and Boss for the stock Heritage bags with QD sissybar. I was also thinking about installing the HD Heritage saddlebag flattop and lock kit for $139, but I'm interested in hearing your perspective on how either the Easy Brackets or Boss Bags QD system has performed on your bike this year. If I go with the Easy for speed, lockability, and external detach, then maybe the bags need more reinforcement after losing the lower support arm.

Thanks for posting - the information sharing on this forum is fantastic. I've schedule my stage 2 upgrade for a week and a half out. I'm installing an SE heavy breather kit, D&D FatCat 2-1 pipes, SE Pro Tuner, and dyno, and once I get the QD saddlebag system on, I think I'll be done for awhile!!

Can you post some pics of your bike with whichever QD system you bought (bags on and off)? I'll do the same after I make up my mind and take the plunge.

Thanks!

I went with the boss bag system. The best IMHO although you pay for it. Plus, the bags are sucked in closer to the bike then with the stock setup and qd sissy bar. You might be able to see it on my sig pic, but my camera is on the frits right now. I spent a little extra for the boss hardware covers and it gives the bike a very clean look with the bags off. On trips, I just take the bags off and into the room with me. When on, the are much more secure then the way the easy brackets are. Pay the money, get the best. not saying something better hasn't come out, but after my research, it was them or nothing... Oh, also, they do have a lower arm, so very secure...

Hey JL,

Just wondering how the Boss Bags QD hardware worked out for you? Do you like it? Recommend it? Happy with it?

I crashed my 2007 Heritage a month ago and it will have a new set of bags installed by the insurance company (among many other things - frame included). The old bags had the Boss Bags stiffener kit installed and so I'l be sending the new bags to them also (love how they retained their shape with the inserts). Wondering if I want to get the QDs at the same time.

I'm using Easybrackets with HogDeluxe bags on my Deluxe. Very pleased, no problems.

I only use the bags infrequently on longers runs & rallies, so the Easybrackets are ideal.

On & off in 20 seconds.
