Thanks for the nice words Ash16. I had lowering bolts and they worked fine for a year or so. Too rough for the ol lady but fine by myself. Got air ride now and I'm lovin life. I have a stock kickstand. I would like a shorter one like story808s got. I don't feel comfortable using the stand when it's completely slammed to the bump stops.

What actually stops the swingarm when it bottoms out?
I took my rear shocks off and raised the rear tire as far as it would go and the rear tire does not rub and it rotates freely. Is there a rubber bumper of some sort that I can't see that stops the rear tire from rubbing the fender? Nothing shows in the manual.

I ordered a Arlen Ness lowering bolts kit and was just curious what actually stops the wheel from rubbing the fender if it bottoms out?

Thanks

I'm very glad I came across this thread because I have been asking myself these same questions. I just purchased a 2011 Crossbones and it has been lowered in the rear using the LA Choppers Easy Rear Lowering Kit. The previous owner had the local Harley Dealership install it for him. Does anyone have any input on this particular kit? I was thinking to ask if there are any cons to having this setup on my bike. I don't believe the front has been lowered at all but from everything I have been hearing from you guys is that it's no issue at all.
