Default Stage 1 graph

New Harley owner also a just completed Stage 1 on my 2011 Heritage. Looking at the graph, they run the bike all the way to 5500 rpm's on the dyno. My owners manual says never run it past 5500. On the road running 85-90, your not even close to 5000. I would think running it this hard on a dyno would not be good for the engine. If I was the guy doing it, I'd get behind something. My question, do they actually run it this hard or am I missing something.

Dyno operators, while tuning, and for the final numbers, will run it to the rev limit. I know my dyno sheets show both torque & horsepower out to 6300 rpm.
Stock bikes have the rev limiter set on 5700 rpm's (IIRC). With either a Stage 1 download, or with a fuel management system like a PCIII, the rev limiter is typically bumped up to 6300 rpm.

Is it bad to take the bike to the rev limit? I personally don't believe so. However, all shops that perform dyno tuning will have you sign a waiver just in case something does go boom during the dyno tune/run.
