Default Tach or no Tach

Hi All,

I don't know if this has been talked about and if so maybe someone could direct me to where. I'm curious about having and using a tachometer. What would the benifits be? Is it pratical and worthwhile or just some neat add on and a waste of money. I will say that they do look cool. So If you have an opinion I'd like to hear it pros & cons.

Thanks

Tim 05 Deluxe

Aside from looking cool, they do serve as a diagnostic tool should you have problems and need to know the rpm range the problem is happening at to track it down. Also for setting idle speed they work well and I'm sure there are others that would come up with a few other uses also. If it doesn't stress your pocket too much, it may be worthwile for you to install one.JMHO

I like the look of my NT without one, but they are useful.

Bit the bullet and ordered a new speedo/tach combo. Been wanting one for a long time anyway, but I agree that it could help when diagnosing certain problems.

My bike came with a tach and I found it valuable for breaking in the engine. They didn't want any rpm over 2500 for the first 50 miles then no more than 3000rpm for the next 450 miles.
