I'm ok with not having a ton of power. My car is my hot rod right now. Crazy idle lope and tall gears are fun around the street. I just want a little more power for my bike and better fuel economy than my car.

I was thinking about the Fuel Moto 107" kit. I need to exchange my jugs but that's not a big deal they do a core exchange so hopefully I can get mine off within a day or so and send mine in. It comes with TW555s, gaskets, lifters and pushrods. I figured if I could do car work and help my roommate swap out his 350 sbc out of his boat then I should be able to do a big bore kit on my bike. I just don't want to scratch or gouge anything on accident and trash the motor. I figure for the price of cams and a 107" kit doing the install myself and getting the dealer to dyno it I would end up paying around $1500. For their 103" kit it would be $1750 for the bore with no cams or $2700 w/ cams and install.

I still don't get where an extra $275 is going with their bore kit and dyno tune. Separately it should only be $1475... oh well I'll figure something out soon. As of right now I got my rear fender to bolt back on now that its cut and the bracket is chopped a little smaller so it will pull it away from the tire.

You are correct, bore is increased to get more cubes. Up to a point.

What djl was saying was that between the 88" engine and the 96" engine, Harley increased the stroke from 4" to 4 3/8".

So an 88" bored from 3.750" to 3.875" goes from 88" to 95" and a 96" goes to 103".

107" is the max with the stock spigots. After that you have to bore the cases to run bigger cylinders / pistons.

To the OP:

If you're not looking for huge middle and/or top end, why not consider just dropping in a set of Andrews 48H cams? Easy DIY job and cheap. LOTS of low-end grunt.

I started with that thought process but things have "grown" since then.

That's what I'm mainly trying to figure out. If I can get away with just cams and a good tune I would love to stick with that. That way I can get my moneys worth out of stock parts and then bore it out later. My original plan was a hook up on some cams and try ported heads and possibly manual pressure release valves. I know I can install cams on my own that wont be an issue. I might talk to the dealership and see what porting the heads would cost. I would like some mid range power... enough to pull away from most vehicles in traffic when I get to get away from the stupid Jacksonville drivers.

Just contact the dealer who sold it to you. It's not a big deal--or at least it wasn't the time I did it.

If I had the money and living in Florida I would definitely talk to this guy

http://docsperformancetuning.com/About_Us.html

Or also Veetwin Performance in Orlando who I also think is a sponsor on here.

Doc is very well known in the industry for his tuning capabilities

I'll have to check a couple of places out. I really want to get a hold of my old roommates dad since he is a good dyno tuner and hopefully can get me a great deal on some parts. I'm considering buying TW-555, TW-777 or CR-575 cams and doing the install myself with my roommate.

I finally got my fender cut and lined up pretty well... nice even gap all around so I may toss some money into getting it painted and pinstriped. I started installing my lowering kit but I ran out of time and had to go to work so hopefully tomorrow I can post up a few pics of her 1-1/2" lower with the fender all setup right.
