I have an 09 RKC and just changed out the tires. 15k on the front and the back. Only reason I changed the front was because the dealership was doing the buy one tire get the second for a penny sale. I was running the stock Dunlops which came on the bike.

I'm on Metz. tires now and they look like they might be lasting longer though only have 3500 miles on them. Please someone let me know if there is a better 200/17 as far as milage! The Alcan Hwy is rough on tires though as it's mainly chip seal on the Northern end which is like sand paper. :-)
You do a lot of down-shifting? I've heard from mechanics that that really eats up your rear tire.

Everyone is different, I have never gotten more than 10,000 miles on either back or front. I tend to wear my back tires out much quicker than the front tires.

I figured out while on a long ride one time that for every mile I was riding I was throwing a nickle out on the road just for tires. Idle minds are dangerous!

I have a 200 rear that gets about 6500 and I get 10-11 on a 90 front. I do a lot of long rides, and never use the tread on the side of the 200... it was a bad choice by HD IMHO. It is a sport touring tire but you can't make real use of it with forward foot controls.

HOLY COW Rakthi! I didn't realize there was anyone out there getting such low miles out of their Bonez' tires! Are the roads really lousy out there on the island? I was just commenting on another thread how I get at least 12k out of my rear tire and I am still on my original front tire after 31k although the front is really starting to show it's age.

Funny that you say that because I have yet to have a dealer tell me that I have to replace my front tire when they are so quick to comment on the rear. I take that to mean that so far I am still good on the front which would be my opinion looking at the tread and the general "health" of the tire. When a tech who normally wants to sell you a new tire because your current one has dirt on it or something equally stupid can't imply that I need a new front tire, I feel confident that I am still okay riding on it after that many miles.

I run the same stock Dunlops that came on my Crossbones from the factory. I get over 12k out of the rear tire and after 31k miles I am still on the factory front tire. My bike was just in the Harley shop for some insurance work and I had them service my front rockers on my Bonez and the techs didn't seem to think that I needed a front tire change.
