I can notice a difference. I have only riden a few different Harleys and I am coming off of a sportbike with a 180 rear on it but the other night I really noticed a big difference with the 200 tire. The last one I rode had a 140 on it and there is a huge difference and feel now.
I picked up my new '06 Standard 2 weeks ago and have loved every waking minute since! When I ordered it I had no idea about he 200 back tire, what a bonus! So far I've lowered the rear and added big radius pipes. 16" apes were on backorder and found out yesterday that they're in, they're being put on Saturday. Here's a few pics and will post more with the new bars later.
Sweet lookin' ride man. I like those big radius pipes on there & they really give it a badass look. Would love to see some pics of the apes on there when you get a chance!
Thanks, Reno & Krenshaw. I really like the look of the pipes and they sound great too! Mine were ordered from Custom Chrome. My apes finally came in and were put on Saturday. Here's a few pics.
Please elaborate I just bought a 06 Night train & the dealer said I couldn't change the exhaust until a download was available.
ORIGINAL: Babs
"The '06 EFI is a "closed loop" system with an oxygen sensor in the exhaust. You'll now be able to change your air cleaner and/or mufflers and the system will adjust itself without any costly downloads or tuning from the dealers."
This is an interesting point.. I was just checking up on Rinehart exhausts and they already have the mount to accept the sensor. This means then that ALL the exhaust manufacturers will need to retool for adding one more item to the exhaust, which is no biggie for the big buys like Bub and V&H. It will make things pretty competitive for the little guys that "also sell exhaust pipes".
Does this mean the elimination of having to "remap" at the dealer? That would be a phenominal thing, where H-D actually added something that required LESS trips to the service dept to worry about what they'll forget, leave off, scratch or mis-install. [:@]
Bannana Boat is right...only the '06 Dynas get the modern EFI. So, your dealer was right about you still needing a download for your '06 Train with different pipes.
My dealer told me today there will be no download avaliable for my 06 Night-train. The only way I can change pipes is to go with the race pack $500 and some F*#@&ing dollers. Can anyone please tell me he's wrong and verify it.
Brings tears to my eyes that they left out the Fatboy! One of the nicest looking bikes around and it has always lacked tire in the back! Come on Harley...
