Just picked up a 2003 Fatboy FI. The guy I bought it from moved the turn signals from the forks to the handlebars when he installed the windshield. Said he had to lift the tank a bit and damaged the fuel line from fuel tank to injector. He replaced it. At first he said it idled high. Thats all background info.
Now. The bike will not start if you just push the start button. Crack the throttle just a hair and it starts fine, but idles low, so I give it a bit of gas to keep a constant idle while it warms up. Riding the bike, every once in a while the RED check engine light will come on, and go out quickly. probably tied to the idle. Aftre about a 5-10 NM ride, idles fine. I thought the idle was set in the computer. Getting ready to take to the dealer for them to have a look. Thought I would ask here first.
In my efforts to clean the IAC I found a connector not connected to the anything. It was the iac connector!!! Connected it up, starts and idles perfect. Thanks
