Who has em and which ones, id like to see top views of them. cant decide wich to order. I hear great things about the leatherworks bag and want to see how far out the 5'' bag sits, the garage leathers bag is probably my favorite looking one because of the differant clasp but its only 3'' and dont think that will be enough room. does anyone know how deep the harley bag is?
you know its funny, i did search, just not on the forum but elsewhere on the internet. just figured to ask here. i appretiate the photos from you gentleman, i like the 5'' because id be able to put more in it like a hoodie or thin coat rolled up, being that i work nights and it can be nice and warm during the day but cooler when i get off to where i would want it then. would either of you guys chime in as to if its about flush with how far the primary cover sticks out.
thanks again

In the future you can enter your search and put hdforums on the end. For me this has worked better than the search engine here. Just a thought.
example... "solo bag hdforums"
That being said this is indeed a forum. If all we did was search previously discussed threads there would hardly ever be a new thread started. I see questions daily that have been discussed many, many times before. Maybe it's laziness, a slight difference in situation, or maybe it's just the guy or gal want's to be part of what's going on and interact with others about their scoot?
I have the Leatherworks 3" bag and it will fit a hoody or a light jacket and a few more small items but it will not fit my leather jacket. If you want maximum space the 5" would be better, I just thought it would stick out too much for me. Also check out the various threads for mounting the bag. lots of good info there. He's a link to mine but there are others that do a great job of laying it out. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...-finished.html
Hoodie, skullcap, 2 tshirts, 2 pairs of shorts & socks, toothbrush and such..
and it all fits in the 5" bag..
and it sticks out just a bit further than the primary cover (on my bike at least)..but not obnoxiously, only like 1/2"-1" out further.. there's also very little chance you'd scrape the bag (if that's what you're worried about), it can be done..but only if you're pretty much parallel with the ground.
it isnt so much scraping that i was worried about, more or less just the looks of it because i didnt want it sticking way out there and look goofy. the 5" seems more practical as for the amount to carry like sweatshirt and a lunch for work and so fourth. just wanted opinions is all as to what most people prefer between 3'' or 5'' and the photos to go along.
