I bought a 06 Hearitage Classic over a year ago. I really have enjoyed my bike so far but was ready for upgrades. What I'm concerned with is the Venturi 5 RSD that I bought. I was told remapping is needed on the Dyno. Ok thats great but what I haven't found out is where exactly do I do this at ? Please help....
Is this something I can do from home and can anyone give me a idea of what the cost will be ? Any help is good help.....
Spend $500 on a Power Vision and change your tune anytime you want, on the road if you want, Economy or performance. Got and love it, Check out my photo albums for pics.
It doesn't have to go on a dyno. It can be remapped with a canned map at a dealer--usually around $150. That said, it doesn't mean you wouldn't benefit more from a dyno tune ($300-$350, results vary with skill of the guy tuning it) or a tuner like the one mentioned above. Just depends on how much you want to spend. If you just spent 400 bucks on an air cleaner, money must not be an issue, you might as well get a tuner.
got to thinking, if you took a Stg I breather off your bike, there is a good chance it's already been remapped. Noticed in your pick it had aftermarket pipes and that is usually associated with an upgraded A/C. If it was a round K&N filter and backing plate, you are probably OK. That assumes it was remapped before. If it was an oblong filter, backing plate, and a rubber boot on the back edge of your football A/C cover then it was still stock and then yeah you probably need to do something with it.
+1 on the above post. And since you already have the dyno jet on there you might you might have an upgraded air cleaner also. So the map that's in her now may be fine.
Are you doing any other engine mods in the near future? If you do cams you will have to dyno tune it again.
Like these guys said...if you took off a stage one air filter (probably round) then you should be fine. If you had a pic to show we could tell you what it is.
If you can ashford the power vision get that. As soon as you hook it up it will loss your stock map. order from fuel moto and tell then what you have and they will send with the correct map, awesome guys to work with. Then as you upgrade more you can load different maps. I've time it will save you money.
