I have had my 2002 Heritage softail for a little over a year or so and I love that bike so much. I want to give it a little more speed and another gear in the tranny and I will be perfectly content with it.
I first got a 2002 Road King when I really wanted a Heritage but the deal on the RK was too good to pass up. Rode it for a few years then got a new 2008 Street Glide. Loved that bike rode it for almost 40,000 miles. Got an offer from someone to buy it so I sold it and bought me a 2013 Heritage! The bike I always wanted. I am really enjoying it so far and looking forward to taking a long trip on it. Don't miss the street glide too much, I love this bike!
As far as the ride, you have to ride one to believe it.
As far as looks, well, you have to like leather and spots, or just strip it down
Totally! It was comments like this that got me to check out softails in the first place. "Just see for yourself and make up your own mind" and I have to say the heritage is by far the best all around motorcycle I have ever experienced.
Im 46 now and bought my first heritage 3yrs ago, picked up a 06 heritage that was sitting covered up in a heated garage with 4k on it. I moved up from my 04 883 sportster, which i still have and is still a great bike to ride.
I went to alot of open houses at the dealership to ride everything they had. Rented a ultra classic for a week and it was to much bike all around for me. I lucked out by chance while at the outer banks, took out the heritage and just knew this was the bike to ride 90% of the time. I do a good amount of touring, 41k on my 883 and 16k on the heritage so far.
I did add a tour pack, a mid 70s bates bag that i painted and pin striped to match the bike. A set of factory heritage springer dual fish tails, not shown in these pics. A factory amp/speaker set up I got at a swap meet for 25.00.
I love my Heritage because it's the bike I've always wanted. It has a classic look and handles like a dream. I'm drawn to the big front end, thick forks and the trio of lights...kinda' like a girl with big ****.
That's a new way to look at them, kinda thinking out of the box you are...
