Best option for replacing 2011 console?
Ok folks, I have visited the entire Internet by this point and I am not seeing a solution. I have a 2011 Fatboy Lo and I hate the big blocky center console on it. Here is what I am considering:
1st choice would be to do away with the console all together. I would like to get the console and starter from the Blackline. I would need to relocate the starter to the place where the horn is and install a Dakota digital speedo on the bars, but the dealership can't tell me straight if this is possible. Anyone know?
2nd choice is to find some sort of low profile console, pc it black and install my stock gauge in it. This would be cheaper but I can't find any that work. HD makes one that would be ok, but its wiring harness is incompatible with the 2011 and later models. Anyone know of one that works? Would it be hard to make a custom version using the stuff out of the stock console?
3rd choice is a new tank and console, but I have no idea where to start with that. I saw some tanks with a console built in at Russ Wernimont tanks, but they want a grand for those things and it doesn't even show what they look like done.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated!
