Congrats on the FB! Enjoy it as often as you can. I have had quite a few HD bikes and think the FB is my favorite of all. I currently have an '08 FB, an '07 Ultra and an '02 V-Rod. I am always wishing I was on the FB.

Mine did not and never needed anything.

The only thing in my opinion is at or around 20,000 check the cam chain tensioners for wear and replacement. If they need it and your going to keep the bike Id upgrade to the SE Hyd Tensioners and probably replace the cams for performance.

Other than that basic maintenance, oil changes at 5,000 , the MOCO says the trans and primary dont need to be changed that often but i always change all 3 holes at the same time.

Any premium fuel is OK, I like Redline Syn Oils but any premium oil and gear box stuff is good.

Ride safe and have fun
What the Gentleman said.. I had terrible problems discovered at 36KMiles.. glad I caught them.
Other than that, regular Oil Service and Enjoy.

Congratulations on your new 2005 Fat Boy.
I have had my 2005 SE Fat Boy for almost 6 years and it has been trouble free.
The gas stations in my area all changed to ethanol about 3 years ago, so that's all I use.
When I had to switch to ethanol, I never did notice any difference in fuel mileage or performance.

I've had my 05 Fatboy for 3 years now and no problems yet! I tore it apart this winter and am making a lot of changes to it. I'm doing all the wrenching myself and this forum has helped me through just about everything! Enjoy the new bike!!
