Thanks, I'm going to have to remember to look for that. The one on the console comes on with 2 dots or a quarter of a tank.

There have been several discussions on the topic. Wasn't there something about the "older" ones? I can't remember what the distinguishing cut-off was. I thought I remembered something about the ones with blue LEDs were better (vs red?)...I don't know. Anyway, I've had mine (blue) on for two years without issues.

I am on the thirdone on the wifes Deluxe. First two failed within 3 months of installation. The one on now has been trouble free for almost 4 years.

The problem with the older ones turned out to be thin wires inside breaking from vibration. New revisions were supposed to fix that.

If its new, I wouldcall the dealer you purchased from to return it for one that works

Thanks for the input guys! Seems like I must have gotten a bad one maybe.

The part number was 62818-06e, so maybe the 5th version?

Here's a pic of the low fuel indicator (pump) and my one dot on a full tank.

Does anyone offer the flush gauge/cap in black instead of chrome? All I've ever seen is chrome ones.

I have the black gas cap and gauge combo on my night train and they both work perfectly well, though I dont have a tank lift installed and I here thay destroy the accuracy of those gauges

They've answered but yes, just seen some on a Rocker over the weekend and for some reason didn't even think to ask the guy if he had issues.

Must have had my mind on snail trails!

i've got the black flush mounts, work just fine.. gauge is still accurate with a 1.5" tank lift, but the range-o-meter seems to be fudged to heck. either that or my fuel milage is hell
