I am having trouble keeping the trim ring down on the fuel side, anyone else? I am always able to see the two way tape under a part of the ring. Ive had the dealer fix it once but it did the exact same thing.
Any suggestions?

I don't think you have an issue with the flush mounts as the speedo shows low fuel too. That would mean the sender is giving the wrong info. The tank unit and the speedo are sent the info from the sender to the ts module and then to the guages. If you fill it and niether one moves thats where I'd be looking...............By the way my flush mounts work great and have for 2 1/2 years or so

I've only run about 3 tanks of gas through mine so I haven't experienced that yet. Mine seems to be seated close with no visible adhesive.

Mine worked great for about two years.......now two LEDS in the middle stopped working. I'm going to take it apart and see if they are burned out or it has other problems. Good news is I can tell when I'm full and empty.

Great point there, man this site is great! Appreciate you posting and sharing your knowledge! Makes sense now there is probably an issue with the sending unit. Time to dive into the SM and here I thought I was going to get some sleep tonight, thanks!

For those who have had them die, did you change out the gauge for a new one and, if you did, how did you remove the trim ring after it was in place? Just wondering if the finish was damaged underneath.

The finish won't be damaged if removed properly.

To remove adhesive badges or trim rings you heat the item with a blow dryer, I use an old paint stripping gun and take a piece of fishing line or something similar and work under the item in a sawing motion to remove the item. Then clean up the remaining adhesive with goo gone, I use a rag with gasoline.

At least that's the way I've done it with no issues. Patience and taking your time is key.

NC D'LUXE,

Thanks! That advice makes sense. I just want to be prepared in case I do decide on something different down the road
