Default Elite 3 on 08 Heritage

Based on the opinions here, I ordered Elite 3's and am going to try the 160 on the rear of my 08 FLSTC. Should get them mounted Wednesday. I hope there isn't clearance issues. I'll update when I find out.

Also been wanting to go with the Elites. Will be looking forward to your posting the results.I have stuck with the 401s & 402s on my 10 Heritage waiting for Dunlop to make the 150 so very interested if the 160 will fit without rubbing.

If U go to the Dunlop site it shows U that the E3's - 160 is actually narrower and taller than the stock 401 -150.

Still others have been using the E3 160 for yrs in here without issues.

I have though about them and checked them out.. thinking the height is less than .02% vs the 401's so it won't be all that much.

Running a 160 E3 on my '09' Heritage right now. No clearance issues at all. Doing fine. Have 7,000 miles and it looks great. Heading to Panama City, FL in May and not going to change before the trip. I was only getting 7 to 8,000 miles on the 401s.

I am close to ordering new tires,, again,,

I was going with the E-3's,, but after reading in here and on-line about the new Michelin's Commander 2's I am leaning that way..

It's a 150-80-16 tire that's a little wider than the lops 401 -150, and close to the same height, but the major difference is they are claimed to go up to 25k on the rear,,, thinking even if only 15 -20K it'd be better than the E-3's.. and it less $$$$$..

Change ever other yr instead of yr'ly.

If that true the fronts should go 30-40 K easy..

We'll just have to wait and see as this is a new tire that came out this Yr and replaced the Michelin's Commander.

READ here and watch the Video if anyone wants to see how the new Michelin Commander2 compares and the INFO about it!!. It pretty well sold me..

I think the E3 160 is basically the same width (+/- .05) and a half inch bigger in diameter than the stock 150.

I have been using the E3 MU90 16 which is .5 inch narrower than stock but only about .25 inches different in diameter.

Just another option.

Well there were no installation issues at all. I really like that they dont follow the cracks in the road. It has a little stiffer ride. The ride height has increased a little, and the gearing feels higher. So far so good.
