Got the 39's unbaffled. Love the hell outta the look, I just think I ride too hard to keep em.
If you're lowered 2" without being able to adjust your ride height on the fly I can understand how that'd be a big problem. (At least I'm guessing you don't have adjustables.)
Added shotgun air suspension and the long pipes aren't an issue as long as I remember to adjust the height. Samson cholos sound even more amazing with engine work and a big cam.
SoCalYank: Ha! You crack me up. Gonna have to share a bottle of Jack when I am down there next! Your treat!! But a ride is in order first.
All: Those long cholos are looking awesome! Gotta love it that folks now need adjustable suspension to protect their exhaust tips! Used to be that adjustable suspension was needed to protect the rear tire from scraping the fender when a passenger was on-board.
My, my how things change - or stay the same. This is a neat ongoing development in the evolution of our bikes.
If your going to run the 39" or 42" Cholos you are going to have stay at or very near stock ride height. If you want to ride slammed or lowered you are going to have to have the ability to adjust the ride height on the fly. Otherwise you are not going to be a happy camper dragging your $800 tips in the asphalt.
But then again, with the new removable tips I guess you now have the option to replace them.
