I am about to order some V&H Straightshots for my 2011 Fatboy lo. I plan on powder coating the heat shields black. Before I make the order, does anyone have any experience with these pipes? I understand they are not as loud as the Big Radius 2-2 but louder than the Big Radius 2-1. I am fine with that. I plan on getting the quiet baffle from V&H as well.
If you're going to powder coat them, they do come in black from the factory...fyi,,,no point in getting chrome pipes and coating them....if it's black you're going for.....And remember loud pipes save lives.....
I just did that, damnit, except mine have a modified upper pipe that curls forward rather than going straight back. They're quieter than the BigShots Staggered Blacks with stock baffles in both (which i have a set for sale if you're interested in a straight pipe, and would save you some money rather than spending $400 whatever on a pipe then another $+ on powdercoating)
I have a set of the "big shots staggered" on my bike right now, picked em up used for 2 bills. and is going to cost me around anther 2 bills to get them Ceramic coated black.
They are loud enough for me. I wouldn't mind throwing a set of the Quite baffles in, I read that it changes the tone a little. If you do get em coated I would go ceramic over powder, little higher heat resistance.

I did not know they came in black... I am going to have to order those. I am glad to hear that they are quieter than the BSS and BR 2-2... They look nice on the low. I love the old school staggered look.
They dont come in black, which why im saying i did what you want to do.. I had the exhaust in my attic off my dads nightrain when he wrecked it.. And thats why im saying if you like the bss's at all, which have a similar look to the Straightshots, i have a set that will fit your bike
I just ordered BS Longs and currently have Chrome V&H Straight Shots on my Softail Deluxe (They came with the bike). If they work with yours I'll give em too you for $100 + Shipping....not sure if you decided chrome or not or if you ordered them.

I just had the BS Long installed on my Deluxe, wish I had done it earlier.

What year is your bike? I have a 2011... I think 2007-2011 have the same fitment.
