Default A quick slip on question

My buddy has a 2002 softail standard (fxst carburated)
I recently installed slip ons on my 2011 electra glide with no mods at all ( just took off the old ones and put on the new ones). I was wondering if the same can be done to his softail?

Your 2011 will handle that change electronically and nothing needs to be done. Keep in mind though that the bikes come pretty lean out of the factory, so it may be a good idea to richen up the mixture even though the bike's ECM will compensate for the ease of air flow with the slip-ons. The 2002 carburated model will probably be okay if no air intake modification is done, but, since the bike comes lean from the factory (although not as lean is today) and there is no electronic compensation like in the 2007 and newer EFI models, I'd change out the main jet to richen up the mixture.
