Looking at buying 97 fatboy
My uncle is looking at buying a 97 fatboy. I know very little about the bike itself, no details on miles, price, etc. I'm not really looking to see if it's a good deal - but I'm wondering if there's anything specific to be worried about with this year? I know the touring models fairly well but I know nothing about the softails. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I do know it's a rigid mounted evo so it's going to vibrate quite a bit, but I don't think he's too concerned about that.

I picked up a 96 Fat Boy this past January with 7500 miles on it. I've pretty much went over the whole bike and check, adjusted, repacked bearings and changed all fluids including brake and fork fluids.The only thing about the EVO is the cylinder base gasket may leak just a little. Nothing to really worry about. Don't expect too much get up and go from the stock motor. It does vibrate a little...that's just parts of having an EVO though. Try not to be too tempted to adjust the idle down too low.
I love mine and it gives me the best of both worlds with my 06 Ultra (bar hopper and touring).
