I agree it is pricey but your paying for the quality my man. HL puts out the highest quality wide tire kits out there. I paid 2500 for a fender, rock guard, license plate frame, struts, and a seat. It was worth every penny

$2500 the you have to buy a wheel and new 200mm tire and then paint the fender.

Seems crazy expensive to me when you still have to buy the wheel and tire. I think I'd just go buy a bunch of used fatboy rear-end parts off ebay.

If your going for a 200 rear on the FXS why not just widen the current fender and struts? At least that would bring the price down As you can install the Fat Boy or Cross Bones rear tire

I have seen a guy do a 200 swap on youtube along with a few other mods:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRKQwCLNNNw

And then when the budget permits you can upgrade the rear fender out, however for me if I am going to swap out the rear I will go down the same route as XJAYX did As I owned a 200 before so if I would upgrade 240 or 250 would be my route

By the way, I forgot to ask. Are you going for custom wheels? or Stock spoke wheels?

Default rewide tire kit

i like the spoke wheels nothing says class an old school,i would swap out the stock rear if i new a fat boy or another rear set up would work.as for going for just a 200 i am just looking for a little beef over the stock set up,to wide an you have problems leaning on turn.i had a 230 softail custom i built an it would always want to stand you up in turns.

Philly: Check this site out and see if they have a kit for your bike. www.dmcustoms.net

Their kit comes with a rear wheel and tire.

Uhh not true i have a 250 and i can guarantee that i can take any turn at the same speed as somebody with a 160 back tire. Ive never heard of a 230 tire by the way

i already checked that site out branner its like 300 more than heartland but does include tire an rim, they arent specific about the kit fitting a 2012,website says 2000 an up.im not sure if the frames changed with the twin cam motors.i still think that the kits should not be that much if you are using your swingarm.thanks for the info though
