Default CycleVisions MoFlow Filter Maintenance

I recently emailed CycleVision about maintenance for the filter that they provide with their MoFlow air cleaners. I have one on my Fat Boy Lo. Here is the exchange:

Me: Just wondering about the recommended care/maintenance/replacement
schedule for the air filter for your MoFlow air cleaners. Do I need to apply
any oil or anything like the K&N filters? Or do you just recommend that they
be washed off/sprayed off from time to time? When is it recommended that the
filter just be replaced? Thanks for your help/insight.

Response: Dear Mike it is the same as a k&n. Thanks Brad

So I was hoping for a little more help than that. I'm actually kind of shocked by the lack of professional support for their product. I can't find anything on their site, and their own support staff seems to have no interest in helping. What do you guys think? Should I just buy a K&N recharge kit and follow their procedures on my filter?

Pick up a K&N recharge kit at autozone. It is cleaner and filter oil. Clean the filter with a brush and the cleaner and rinse under running water. Let dry. Re oil. Put back on bike.

Thanks for the reply. I feel a little better about it getting a second opinion. The response I received from the customer service rep didn't do much to bolster my confidence in the reply. So treating it like a K&N filter I will do.

When you clean and oil it try to make it so you can let the filter sit overnight. This will give the oil time to drain off and dry a little. otherwise it will be dripping on you for a few days.

I've dealt with Cyclevision with good results! I run a K+N and I think he responded like that because it is that simple! I do my KN every winter, only takes a few minutes and I am still using my original cleaning/re-oiling kit I bought years ago. Ride safe.

Seems simple enough. I was mainly questioning the response of the customer service rep because it seemed so unprofessional. The guy might be very knowledgeable. I also thought the company might sell the stuff to maintain their own product, which the rep might have mentioned in the reply. In all, it seemed like he was responding just to respond. Thanks for replies. I feel better about taking the advice now.
