Default deuce needs tires

Alright guys, my deuce is going to need tires in the next 2000 miles so probably mid summer, so might change them now while we r having a cold spell next few weeks. So what do you recommend for front and rear rubber? Also is the stock rear size the widest I can go with stock set-up or can I go 180 with stock wheel/fender

i strongly suggest getting Michelin/ HD co-branded "Scorcher" tires.

i have had two set of Dunlops. these had short life and sidewall cracks.

two months ago i installed the "Scorcher" tires on the front and back.

I have a 2000 Deuce and contrary to what some people say, the 180

fit with no interference without any modifications. i bought these from my HD dealer.

I've read a lot back and forth about a 180 fitting on the back. Most people say that a 170 is the widest you can go with no modifications. I'm interested in this too, because I will be replacing the tires on my Deuce also. What is the exact size number listed on the sidewall of your scorcher tires? If you were able to fit a 180, I would like to get the same tire. Exact tire widths differ slightly from different manufacturers, and it sounds like you found one that fits. My bike is lowered about 2" so I don't know if that will cause any clearance issues, but it's worth a shot.

i just put on some Pirelli Night Dragons on my 03 Deuce and i really like them, i went up to a 180 rear using a spacer kit i found online and so far no problems. handles great with a 180 too.

Sidewall cracking is from tires that should have been recycled instead of sold. There's a date on the sidewall somewhere.

the size of the Scorcher 31 is 180-60B17. it works on my 2000 Deuce without any spacers or modifications. the closest interferce is 1/8" between the belt and belt guard.

there is no evidence of any rubbing. I thought of using a Dremel tool on the guard to acquire a little more clearance. Good luck.

My Deuce has the stock suspension. there is a lot of cleareance between the tire and the fender. i believe your lowered modification should work.
i really like the appearance of the extra width of the tire.
