Glad to hear you're OK. The bike can be fixed up no problem, maybe even with some upgrades you've been dreaming about (c'mon, we all have a list of stuff to do!).
It's really easy to replay the scenario in your mind and think of what you should have done. I can't say I would have had a better experience than you did, if I was in your shoes....time to reacquaint myself with the engine kill switch....
Heal quick, and from one vet to another, thanks for your service!
story808, You're 100% right I'm gonna try and add some new stuff on there. Especially when it comes to the fenders.
oct1949, I actually bought my NT used. Maybe you're right in thinking that the maintenance wasn't properly kept up with. It never even hinted at doing that before today. I was able to right it home, but it was a little bit of a challenge managing that throttle (for a new rider like myself).
Glad to see your OK. Thank you for your service. Another thing nobody has mentioned is that an engine guard might have saved more of the bike from the damaged it sustained. I know lots of people think they are ugly and un-cool but they do serve a purpose. Hope the bike gets fixed and the throttle problem solved soon, so you can get back to riding.
dropped my bike the other day, hit some gravel at about 30km. right leg is pooched and tank and shifter lever were damaged, happens to us all. Glad your ok.
Last time I dropped a bike, I took it as a great excuse to do some customizing while rebuilding, helped me get excited about the bike after the wreck. Worst part for me was the initial ride after the wreck...can take a little time to get your confidence back.
Glad you're ok brother... Like all that replied before me said. Metal can be welded and replaced and we will rebuild! The damage doesn't look too too bad... Can't wait to see the version 2.0 of your Night Train bro Now hit eBay and get back on that horse! The classifieds section here is a great resource too. Also curious how your throttle could have stuck open like that.
