I'm glad you are okay. Bikes can be replaced, but I'm happy to see that you can post and share what happened as you will hopefully be back on two wheels soon.
Thank you for your service! The bike will be better in the end, you learned something about riding and expecting the unexpected, and you OK. All is good.
concerning the earlier post about the engine guard.. I never really wanted one, thought it would take away from the lines of my bike..
after I hit a deer in december and rebuilt, I decided to do it anyway.. i bought the harley engine guard and I really like it.. I don't think it takes away from the looks..
the good thing is it may help if I ever hit something again (the deer slammed around the front into my left leg and my leg destroyed the intake) and I also have somewhere else to put my feet and add other highway pegs down the road.
story808, You're 100% right I'm gonna try and add some new stuff on there. Especially when it comes to the fenders.
oct1949, I actually bought my NT used. Maybe you're right in thinking that the maintenance wasn't properly kept up with. It never even hinted at doing that before today. I was able to right it home, but it was a little bit of a challenge managing that throttle (for a new rider like myself).
Wait did you say you rode it home??? You got guts brother... lol With the throttle getting stuck not many would do that after going down... Check out the night train picture thread...
Maybe we can help you some how, and I just can't help myself I gotta ask... Is that your boot in the picture... lol Sorry after it's said and done it's kinda funny, right?
