lol yeah Story, that's my boot. Looking back, riding it back probably wasn't a good idea. I guess I was thinking, "s***! I gotta get home. The wife is gonna KILL me!"
I talked to the HD shop yesterday. It looks like around $5k in damage. Right now I'm out of town, but I wanna get back in a hurry so I can talk to the guy about what parts I want. What it comes down to is everything that was chrome, I want it replaced in black (ie, turn signals and forks). Maybe get a hugger fender for the front, and I want my handle bars to be at shoulder level. Looking at the stock bars off the cross bones.
I think the dealer makes you replace the parts with stock one or atleast the same that we're on your bike already. When my dyna was backed into a work my local dealer would only get the stock correct parts for it so i I took the cash mane fixed it myself

Man I hope that's not the case with my dealer. I mean, why should it matter? The main parts I want (black forks, black hangars) Harley offers. I guess I'll find out in a couple of days when I get back to Fort Worth.
If anything, I'll end up taking the cash and get the parts I want, and have them put them on anyway. Like I said before, it shouldn't matter.
Glad your ok My Brother in Arms. Find a Local Indy that does Insurance work and let them fix it and you may be able to go with the parts that you want.
The insurance will cover the VALUE of stock replacement parts. If you wish to install other parts that should be fine. Any difference in cost will come out of your pocket. The dealer will know all about it. I would assume what you are a wanting to do is a common occurance.
Alright, so the Progressive guy dropped the ball and didn't go to the shop all last week. So HD has just been sitting on my bike. He's suppose to go out tomorrow, so let's hope that happens.
I'm not sure if I wanna go with the 16" apes or the street slammers. Anyone have any experience with either? Or both??
Wow! Crazy story, but you're around to tell it and that's the good news. Just finished up my bike after dropping it on Christmas morning. I went with all black parts that were polished before. I have yet to get pics up, but I hope to soon. BTW mine fell off the kickstand while idling in the driveway. Fell on me. After that 18hr shift at work my reflexes were not up to par.
My last bike was a Triumph and the throttle stuck on me. Scared me but I pulled in the clutch and killed it. A small rock got stuck between the bar and the inside of the grip.
As far as bars, I still have stock Bones bars that are just collecting dust. If you're interested PM me. Again, glad you're okay. And welcome back!
